Pro football has been Caleb’s dream since forever. But what kind of idiot asks a girl to drop everything so he can follow his dream?
RIVAL DREAMS is the dramatic and heartwarming conclusion to Natalie Decker’s RIVAL LOVE series.
GUEST POST: A Day in the Life of Natalie Decker
My life is kind of boring. Seriously it is. On the average M-F I’m doing domestic everyday stuff. Getting my children off to their schools. Day job. Picking my children up from their schools. Mowing the lawn, cleaning the house, cooking dinner, helping with homework, and doing laundry. HOW IN THE HECK I DO ALL THIS AND STILL WRITE??? I plan out my entire day. If I didn’t I’d be so screwed and would probably miss all my deadlines. I usually have an hour sometimes two depending on the day for writing either in the morning or at night before bed.
If this were a writing day and I were starting a new series, I grab four things: pen, notebook, post it’s, and writing board. What is a writing board? This is a dry erase board that I stick post it’s and write notes all over it.
Why Post it’s if I am using a dry erase board? I use post it’s because it’s the easiest thing to remove and restick if you want to change up your plot points. Once I reach a plot point and fully execute it I remove it from the board and work on the next one in line.
If this were a Sat or Sun usually you’d finding me typing away at my laptop with a cup of coffee, playing board games with my kids, cooking, reading books, swimming, or catching up on shows that are on the DVR.
When we cook we have around the world dinner nights. So, we make meals inspired from different parts of the world. Irish, British, French, Italian, Scottish, Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, the list goes on. But yes we look up things and cook them. My favorite dish to make is probably Drunken Noodles. That’s a Thai dish. My second would probably be Spaghetti sauce. My children love helping cook dinner. We usually designate one child helping me because they tend to fight with each other and drive me nuts if more than one is in the kitchen with me.
But this is my typical day.
